Yet more applied games
|
|
|
Dear all,
here are more links to recent projects and games I've been working on. We had a pretty good year in Open Lab, relatively to the overall adverse context, and we have a last development slot open before December 2021. So if you have a project that needs design or development (or both) for 2021, just write me.

Divide Et Impera
We released Divide et Impera, a free game about hate speech in which you are the villain: a politician whose career is based on spreading xenophobia, sexism, rabid nationalism, etc. Also, silly fake news and spelling mistakes. All links and details.

Game Writing & Narrative Design Courses
I taught two courses on game writing and narrative design for the master in game design at IUML University (Milan), and it has been a great learning experience. Following that, I started creating a sample game (a take on the siege of Troy) and tools (together with Matteo Bicocchi) that will be the basis of future teaching projects on narrative design. More news to come!

Games For And About Teaching
In Open Lab, we have released two games for Bocconi University for its economy classes. More information here (we didn't do the graphic design for this linked one, but we did for the one in the pic).
We also created an augmented reality application for a board game used for didactical purposes working with CNR Genova, see here.

Roller Drama Narrative Engine
Our biggest current project is Roller Drama, the follow-up game to Football Drama. In the course of its development, we created a relatively complex and powerful narrative engine; read the post. Plus this thread.

There is more: designing games for theatrical performances, a web-based narrative editor, but those are too early in development.
Ok, ending with the mandatory bizarre tweet, all the best,
Pietro
