Chateau Lantern Tours offer a spooky perspective of Chateau de Morès State Historic Site 

MEDORA, N.D. – Step into history and mystery at the Chateau de Morès State Historic Site in Medora during the Chateau Lantern Tours on Saturday, Oct. 26. Explore the darker side of the Chateau's past in a thrilling evening of frights, delights, and minimal lights. The one-hour tours start at 5:30 and 7 p.m. MT at the Interpretive Center. After watching a short film, participants will walk up to the Chateau for a tour through the main level where shadows linger. 

While venturing through the Chateau, illuminated only by lanterns, hear the eerie tale of Riley Luffsey's murder, learn about the mysterious séance that foretold the Marquis de Morès' tragic demise, and listen to ghostly stories that still haunt the grounds. Although nothing will jump out to frighten you, you never know what will be around the next corner.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $3 for ages 6-15, and free for ages 5 and under. Tickets go on sale in the Interpretive Center one-half hour before each tour. Lanterns will be provided. 

The Chateau de Morès is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Chimney Park in Medora is part of the site. The Chateau de Morès site and Interpretive Center near Medora are open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT.
