C.A.R.L. Halloween Fest!

Sunday, Oct. 27, 12–4 p.m.
Join the Canine Adoption and Rescue League (CARL) for Halloween Fest on Sunday, Oct. 27, at Topa Topa Brewery! Enjoy food trucks, live music from Kelly’s Lot, a silent auction, and the chance to meet some of the amazing CARL dogs available for adoption. Kids are welcome, and costumes are encouraged! A $10 donation is suggested, with all proceeds benefiting the CARL dogs.

Ascension Lutheran church in Thousand Oaks did a great job putting on their 1st big pet event! The Blessing of the Animals on October 5, 2024!

Thank you to our Transporters, Tracy, Kai and Rhonda for bringing some of our beauties; Anubis, Udon, Sonora and Raya. They were all well-behaved,
.
Not only did we have dogs, Cats Cradle brought about 20 kittens! Petting zoo (farm animals), a horse that gave rides and many other vendors.

Thank you to all our other volunteers that were such a big help…Larry (Tracy’s husband), Marilyn, Mary and Diane (my right arm)

Thank you Mary and Marilyn for sweating it out with me during the break-down and loading.

Hi, I'm Cali, a beautiful German Shepherd X in need of a new home as my owner is deploying and I cannot go too. Thankfully CARL has accepted me into their adoption program and will help me find a new home.

I'm good with children and people, but skittish with other dogs. It's unknown how I'd do with cats.

I've had formal training and know basic commands. I enjoy playing fetch and snuggling. The best home for me would be with older children and as the only dog.

Sailor & Friends, Ventura, Saturday, September 7th 11:30am - 3:30pm!
    
Paxton,   Sue & Aries,  Stella Luna

It was a warm and slow day in Ventura at our monthly Dog Adoption Event at Sailor
and Friends Pet Supply on Saturday. Our fur babies in attendance were our sweet
big boy Aries (a.k.a. 100 lbs. of love), Paxton (who is scheduled to have his
prosthetic 4th leg attached as soon as he is fully grown), Nellie, our newest
addition, Gwen, the cutie pie Cannoli, Stella Luna and of course last but not least
my baby Anubis. Our volunteers led by Toni were Christina, Kai, Karen, Sue, Jose and Kathy. Stacey was also there hosting her silent auction. There was some interest in adopting Stella Luna. Time will tell. We received some pet bowls and clothes and $70 in donations. Thank-you! We hope to see you at any of our upcoming events that occur on the first Saturday of every month at Sailor and Friends Pet Supply on Main Street in Ventura from 11:30 to 3:30. Our next event will be on Saturday October 5, 2024, so mark your calendar!

Recycling Fundraiser
 

Please Remember To Recycle For The CARL Dogs! 


                                                                                           

We need your help. Please remember to recycle for the CARL dogs. The money we raise helps the dogs in so many ways. Many things have been funded through our recycling program. We have been able to purchase dog house heaters for the winter and misters for the summer months. We have been able to buy food for special needs dogs, provide medical, help sponsor dogs and much needed maintenance to the kennels to keep our dogs safe and happy. But we need your help as we can do so much more if you donate your recyclables.

Please separate your plastic bottles and aluminum cans and bring to the kennel. If you are unable to bring to the kennel, we can make arrangements to pick them up. You can also bring your recyclables to the CARL Boutique Thrift Store. What is good for the environment is also good for the dogs:)

Volunteer orientations are now being conducted online. After completely filing out the CARL volunteer application VOLUNTEER APPLICATION. You will be contacted by email to attend an online orientation, presented by a CARL volunteer via Zoom.
