The long-awaited opening of Broxton Plaza is happening this October! With more games, seating, music, and activities, the Westwood Village Improvement Association (WVIA) is excited to bring this transformation to our community.
Broxton Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic, creating a pedestrian-friendly plaza to boost the vibrancy of Westwood Village. While the Broxton Plaza is a two-year pilot program, we’re hopeful it will become a permanent fixture.
What is Broxton Plaza?
Broxton Plaza is a public space closed to cars, featuring a colorful street treatment, large planters, tables, chairs, games, and weekly activations. Located between Weyburn and Kinross Avenues, it will serve as a hub for events, outdoor dining, and community activities, all while supporting local businesses and enhancing the street’s atmosphere.

Sidewalk Work:
Precision Concrete Cutting
The Westwood Village Improvement Association (WVIA) recently completed work identifying and eliminating sidewalk-tripping hazards by repairing over 100 locations throughout the Village where the sidewalk was raised or uneven.
This work was part of WVIA’s sidewalk maintenance and rehabilitation program aimed at improving the quality of our community and ensuring a safe environment for residents and visitors to walk.

A Zone 2 property owner seat on the WVIA Board of Directors is now open, offering an opportunity for a new Westwood Village property owner to join the board. The WVIA Nominating Committee is seeking interested Zone 2 property owners to recommend a candidate.
