Book Swap Update

As we move closer to our expanded two-day Community Book Swap, we want to remind everyone to bring your book donations to the Gardner campus as soon as you can. We have set aside an area in the main building lobby to house the books until the swap on October 11th and 12th.

Our  parent group,
FROGS has done the heavy lifting for this incredible event. Among other things they've recently determined which days certain activities will take place, with some just on Friday or Saturday and some happening across both days.  Come one or both days to experience all the fun! So, get those book donations in and get set for a great time!

Elite Parent Ed Talks Available to Gardner Parents

This year, we're all in for an excellent experience with a new parent education series called ParentEd Talks. We've partnered with ParentMap to secure access to webinars from twelve renowned speakers on topics important to parents, including building resilience, navigating screen time, mental health, and fostering independence. Thanks to Wonder Tree Developmental Psychology for co-sponsoring access to our Gardner families!

First up? Social psychologist Jonathan Haidt, Ph.D., the author of The Anxious Generation kicks off the series next Tuesday, October 15th.  Since 2018, Haidt has been studying the contributions of social media to the decline of teen mental health and the rise of political dysfunction. What began with a book launch, The Anxious Generation has since transformed into a three-year campaign to reclaim childhood, inviting teens, parents, schools, tech and policy leaders to take collective action — from inside their own families and homes, at school, to the halls of Congress — all across the globe.

Registration information is coming soon- save the date and feel free to check out the schedule and roster of speakers in the meantime.

Volunteers Needed!

Recently, the Friends and Relatives of Gardner School updated all of their information on the FROGS page of the Gardner website. This is a shout-out to all Gardner parents who may not be aware of FROGS. Please check out their info. You are all eligible to be a FROG!

Snack Pouch Recycling

Did you know Gardner participates in a program through TERRACYCLE to recycle puree pouches like the ones shown below? Feel free to send empty pouches from home to add to our classroom recycle bins.

The pouches do not need to be cleaned, but please empty as much food as possible and replace the lids. Any brand accepted!
