| | | | October is National Book Month! The National Book Foundation launched National Book Month in 2003, creating the perfect opportunity to explore new genres or revisit your favorite reads.
Here are five easy ways to celebrate National Book Month: Read a Book: Choose a book from a genre you love or try something new. Join our HLCC Book Club: Gather friends to discuss Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin on October 17, 2024 at 6PM. Listen to an Audiobook: Hop on Boundless or Hoopla to experience storytelling in a new way while on the go. Share Your Favorites: Post about your favorite books or genre on social media and tag us! Get a Library Card: Visit us to apply for your library card and unlock access to countless resources!
We Can Help! Did you know that our librarians can assist you in finding books by title, author, or subject using our online catalog? They can also look up ebooks on the Boundless and Hoopla platforms. Whether you're looking for the next book in a certain series, other titles written by the same author, or similar read-alikes based on your favorites, our staff is here to help!
New for You! We have new titles available for you to enjoy as you cook and watch sports this fall, so stop by Highwood Library to check out some of the new additions to our collection. Spice up your recipes with Dac Biet: An Extra Special Vietnamese Cookbook, or dive into the backstory of a well-known quarterback in Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers. In addition to these new nonfiction books, we also have the latest fiction titles! |
