International Design Forum @InnoTrans
Recap
|
|
Last week, the International Design Forum 2024 took place at InnoTrans, focusing on innovative interior concepts for local and regional transport. We were thrilled by the high level of interest: in front of a large audience, renowned companies and design studios such as Alstom, büro+staubach, OTTOBAHN, NVGTR, N+P Innovation Design, and Hitachi presented their solutions.
In two panel discussions, experts from PriestmanGoode, DB Regio, Hamburger Hochbahn, and EDAG ENGINEERING SPAIN discussed the planning of successful tendering processes and the enhancement of the travel experience through design. Here is a brief summary of the key insights:
- Vision and Passenger Needs: Successful rail projects begin with thorough research and a clear vision.
- Execution Strategy: Tendering processes should be multi-phase and based on user needs and design visions.
- Collaboration: Designers should accompany the entire process to ensure the vision is realized.
- Testing and Improvement: Designs should be tested and documented using mock-ups.
- Investing in Design: A thorough design process avoids delays and cost overruns.
- Trends: There is a growing demand for personalized interior solutions among railway operators.
Thank you to all speakers and the audience. We look forward to #IDF26!
