Boys & Girls Haven is excited to announce an $80,000 grant from the Clark Family Foundation, Inc., a family foundation based in Naples, Florida, dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of children. This generous contribution will fund critical renovations to the living spaces on our Residential Foster Care campus, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for the children in our care. Community Spotlight

Banking 101 - Fifth Third Bank

“The Independence Readiness Program partnered with Fifth Third Bank to provide a Life Skills 'Banking 101' workshop for our young adults. Representatives Faiza Omar and Kate Samuels led interactive activities and group discussions, using budget forms and real-life examples to illustrate the benefits of banking and money management."

- Ayla Espinosa, IR Manager

(The workshop took place in the Independence Readiness Learning Center)

Spirited Volunteers - Spirit Airlines

A group from Spirit Airlines worked tirelessly to paint a fence in our Animal-Assisted Therapy facilities. They also helped out in the Haven Peace Garden. This was their first visit with us and they plan to come back again!

Cold, creamy, and oh so dreamy - Ice Cream Social Hosted by Junior League

A BIG shout out to the Junior League of Louisville for hosting an ice cream social and game night for our staff and residents. The youth loved the ice cream, especially all the toppings! Junior League also delivered fresh flowers to the front office in recognition of the work we do at BGH.

"Last week, during our service time at Boys & Girls Haven, it felt so natural jumping in playing games & cutting up with the kids. I’ll always have a soft spot for kids in the care of the state & am glad to still support them through partnerships like this."

Drumming Up Support

"I met this wonderful group of drummers at this year's World Fest. They usually meet at Waterfront Park and during festivals around town. They're a mix of men, women, young, and old. I asked if they'd consider coming to campus to do a circle with our boys...they came out the very next weekend.

Being part of the drum circle with our youth was extremely moving for me. They were all engaged and represented themselves and the organization in a way I’ve never seen before. I was proud of them all and hope we can make drum circles a permanent part of our programming. The Haven Peace Garden as a venue was amazing."
