Calendar Reminder: Spirit Week This Week
|
|
Monday- Class Colors: Early Childhood - Green, Kalama - Yellow, Pahto - Orange, Loowit - Red, Wy'East - Purple, Klickitat - Blue, Staff - Rainbow
Tuesday- Tutu Tuesday
Wednesday- Hats and Crazy Sock Day (Costume Day for 3-Day Tumtum Class)
Thursday- Halloween Costume Day
Friday- Pajama Day
We encourage all students to wear their costumes on Halloween, Thursday, October 31st. We will have a special photo booth to capture the incredible costumes and a Monster Mash style dance in the gym, making for a fun and memorable day.
Returning this year is our Pumpkin Palooza event! We do this to celebrate the arrival of fall and all that it offers. This year Pumpkin Palooza will be Friday, November 1, the day after Halloween. Also on Friday, Teacher Maria will share a presentation on Día De Los Muertos with the students where they will perform dances and songs learned in Spanish class while exploring this cultural tradition. After that, throughout the day classes will be invited to collect pumpkins in the wetlands. Older students help create Gardner's very own pumpkin hunt for the rest of the students during Pumpkin Palooza. We will have at least 100 pumpkins delivered to the school during the last week of October thanks to our neighbor and pumpkin farmer, Farmer Scotty, at the intersection of 179th and 50th.

Outstanding leadership and effective creative strategy were on vivid display during the Gardner Quest Guilds on Thursday, October 17. Students embraced the multi-age social-emotional program in its second year, having a blast while employing different methods of scooting, deciding which type of ball to use and what technique to get it to the goal. All in all, it was a fun-filled event where much laughter and enjoyment were shared, and great strategies were practiced.

We're excited to welcome families back for another morning social this Friday, November 1st, in the Farmhouse! We'll have delicious treats, tea, and coffee starting at 8:15 a.m. Please come by and join your fellow parents and Gardner staff for some fun Friday social time.
After the social you're welcome to stay for one of the season's biggest highlights. Teacher Maria and her students will share a presentation on Día De Los Muertos at 9:30 am. This educational session will not only be informative but also engaging, as students will perform dances and songs learned in Spanish class, exploring this honored tradition.

Having specialist classes for our early childhood program provides opportunities for students to explore new spaces and experiment with a variety of materials. In Music class, our Mazama students have been trying out all the instruments, and they're having a blast!
