SANTA CRUZ POSTCARD WRITERS SEND OUT OVER 50,000 POSTCARDS TO VOTERS

Postcard parties, like the one above in Kathy Pearson’s backyard (thank you for hosting Kathy!), were taking place all over Santa Cruz County in 2024. Postcarders wrote Get Out the Vote messages to voters by the thousands in the swing states of Ohio, Nevada, Montana, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Wisconsin.

On Monday, October 21, our community activists mailed out these GOTV postcards (pictured below). Part of the mailing on Monday included nearly 1,000 postcards that were written over the last month at Kathy Pearson’s Sunday parties.

These efforts were repeated by many people all over our town!! Margaret and Jenny distributed 52,100 postcards with voter names and addresses to many Santa Cruzans (and a few people from out of town) since January 2024! We are both so proud to be a member of this community where many rose to Michelle Obama’s challenge to “Do Something” - we did a lot!! 

Thank you to everyone who participated this year in our effort to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, whether it was at home writing postcards or supporting our various fundraisers for Democratic grassroots organizations.

Our Indivisible Santa Cruz County events raised $14,931 for Northeast Arizona Native Democrats (helps Native voices be heard at the ballot box) $7,051 for Movement Voter Project (funds progressive local organizing targeting young voters in swing states) and $4,175 for Central Valley Matters (a coalition of organizations in Central California working to strengthen Democracy) - a total of $26,157! 

In a short time we will know the results of the election. People here in Santa Cruz have risen to the challenge and contributed to a successful effort to save our Democracy. We have worked hard for this victory. Keep the faith and thank you to all of you.
