EARLY VOTING HAS STARTED !

Early voting for the Nov 5 elections in Ada County runs from Oct 15 to Nov 1, with polling locations open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM. You can visit AdaCountyElections.gov to find early voting sites, including the Mobile Voting Unit schedule. Voting early has many advantages, but one of my favorites is that once you've cast your ballot, candidates will know and focus their efforts elsewhere!

VOTE BY MAIL
Voting by mail is an easy and convenient way to submit your ballot from the comfort of your home!

If you want to vote absentee the deadline to request your ballot is Friday, October 25 at 5pm.

You can validate the status of your request on the Secretary of State's website.

** REMINDER: You have to sign up to vote by mail EVERY YEAR.  So if you voted by mail last election, you still need to sign up again this election.

VOTING IN THE ACHD RACE!

Supporting Patricia Nilsson
Certain parts of Ada County will be voting in the Ada County Highway District elections this year. A handful of precincts in District 19, the East End and Harris Ranch areas, will see a this race on your ballot. In this election I am supporting Patricia Nilsson in the ACHD District 1 race. Patricia's experience and planning knowledge will benefit us in District 19 and Ada County. Click here to find out which ACHD District you live in and learn more about Patricia Nilsson.

WHAT ABOUT THAT CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

ON THE BALLOT?

THE ONE ABOUT ONLY CITIZENS CAN VOTE?

Last session the Republicans introduced and passed HJR005, a bill to declare that only US citizens can vote in an election.

I voted against it in the Senate because it's redundant and done solely as a political stunt for elections.  The constitution already states that only US citizens can vote. With all the anti-immigration rhetoric, this did nothing but provide an expensive campaign platform, at taxpayer expense, for many Republicans trying to appeal to certain voters who are afraid of immigrants coming to our country and fueling myths about "open borders."

We need to be better stewards of public funds. It is inexcusable to use the Senate chamber as a campaign platform.

This is going to be a tight race with narrow thin margins, so we have to leave everything on the field and campaign harder than we ever have.

Please join me to protect this important district and elect hardworking Democrats.
SMARTER THAN A 6TH GRADER?
I visited Answer Charter School last week and enjoyed an engaging class visit with these amazing 6th graders. I was so impressed with their maturity and general concern for their neighbors.

I asked them, "What problems do you want solved?"
  • climate change and taking care of nature
  • women’s rights
  • ending racism and discrimination
  • homelessness
  • high cost of living
  • access for people with disabilities
  • road safety ….

School lunches made the list, but it’s pretty poignant to see the number of comments about safety and ending school shootings. I worked with high school students 2 years in a row to introduce a resolution to encourage the safe use and storage of firearms.  I couldn't get a hearing, but we'll keep working on this!

Las Senoras is an amazing organization, based on love and service. They advocate for people with disabilities and support caregivers.  Most of the members are mothers, fathers, children and adults with disabilities.

I was so honored to join them last weekend for their annual conference!  Check out this video to learn more!
Power the Campaign: Contribute Today

I’ve been hitting the pavement in my home district and helping in our competitive races in D15, 26, 29 and 6! There’s no better way to connect with voters than knocking on doors to hear their concerns; we are working hard to flip seats and build a brighter future for Idaho. Every conversation is a step closer to making our state a place where everyone’s voice is heard and respected.

However, none of this is possible without your support. My work is fueled by grassroots contributions from supporters like you. Thank you!
