Welcome to the Gatekeeping online Directors' Report to governing boards October 2024


Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to our first Gatekeeping Directors' Report to governors/trustees for the academic year 2024-2025. The half termly Gatekeeping Directors’ Report presents items of relevance to governing boards that have been shared via Ealing’s Gatekeeping newsletter with schools since the start of term via Gatekeeping.
 
A copy of this Gatekeeping online Directors’ Report to governing boards has been sent to all governors, trustees and clerks via the Ealing membership data base (on GovernorHub). Please note the email address it will be sent from is info@governorhub.email so please check your ’junk’ folder if you do not receive. It can also be found on the Ealing Governor Services GovernorHub noticeboard and Ealing Grid for Learning (EGfL). Previous editions of the Directors’ Report can also be found on EGfL.
 
Please note as this is an online report consisting of links to relevant EGfL Gatekeeping pages. Unfortunately, it cannot be formatted into one downloadable document.

We have an exciting new governance training programme for 2024-2025 which is now available to view and book via Ealing CPD Online. A schedule of all training is also available in GovernorHub under ‘training’ tab.

New statutory leavers and joiners' notification process

From Monday 23 September 2024 maintained schools and academies must notify the LA via a form embedded into Gateway immediately prior to removing a pupil from roll. Read the guide on how to complete the embedded leaver’s notification.

School funding consultation 2025-26

We are consulting with maintained schools and academies about any proposed changes to the local schools funding formula including the method, principles and rules adopted. Join the online meetings on 16 or 17 October. Respond by 24 October.

Free breakfast clubs starting April 2025!

The Chancellor announced 750 primary schools will pilot free breakfast clubs from April 2025. Schools that wish to find out more about becoming an early adopter can sign up using the early adopter breakfast clubs expression of interest form

Safeguarding / Prevent

Domestic abuse counselling service for 11-18 year olds

Awaaz Young People Service (EACH Counselling) offers counselling support. Young people can be referred by an agency, school, social services etc or they can self-refer themselves as well for up-to 16 free counselling sessions.
