LIGHTING AT MAURICE A. FERRÉ PARK

WE WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THE COMPLETION OF PHASE ONE OF THE SOLAR LIGHTING PROJECT AT MAURICE A. FERRÉ PARK

As part of phase one, new double-fixture solar lights have been installed along the park's pathways. These lights not only provide better nighttime illumination for our park visitors but also contribute to environmental conservation by utilizing solar energy.

The use of solar lights reflects our commitment to sustainability and community well-being. With more efficient and eco-friendly lighting, we aim to enhance the experience of all park visitors, offering a safer and more pleasant environment at night. The lighting project at Maurice A. Ferré Park consists of two phases.

In the second phase, the lighting coverage will be expanded to more areas of the park, including the dog park. Below is a map of the proposed phase II, detailing the specific areas to be illuminated in this planned second phase.

FOUNTAIN RESTORATION

We'd like to share an update on the renovation of the Bayfront Park Fountain. The team has been diligently preparing the fountain to be refurbished from the inside out.

Several key steps have been completed: surveys were submitted for approval, a crucial meeting with FPL took place to ensure seamless collaboration, a waterproofing specialist assessed the fountain, and a detailed engineering report covering the fountain, tunnel, control room, and walls was submitted to the city for prescreen review. Since August 19th, 2024, the area around the fountain has been fenced off and will remain fenced until completion. The project is expected to be completed by mid-December 2024.

We will continue to keep you informed about the fountain's progress through this newsletter.

"All dogs must be on a leash, and all dog owners are responsible for picking up any waste."

It is very important that all residents comply with and respect the regulations to ensure that everyone's visit to the park is enjoyable.

Drones are welcomed in the parks, but only after obtaining the necessary permits.

For more on park rules, please refer to “Chapter 38 Parks and Recreation” on the code of ordinances for Miami - Dade County.
