VOTE!

Election Day is November 5.

If you have not already voted, make your plan to vote now. Maine makes it easy and convenient for you to vote. See the State of Maine Voter Guide.

If you are not registered to vote:

If you are not registered to vote, register now. You can register in person at your Town Clerk’s office during business hours from now up to and including election day, November 5.

If you are registered but have not yet voted:

  • If you already have an absentee ballot - complete and return the ballot to your Town Clerk’s office no later than 8:00 PM on election day, November 5.

  • If you do not have an absentee ballot - time is short to request one, so it is best that you either

    • vote early at your Town Clerk’s office (check with the Clerk first) or

    • Vote in-person on Election Day, November 5.

If you’d like to take a guide into the voting booth, you’re welcome to print out the KCDC Voter Guide listing all the Democratic candidates appearing on Knox County ballots.

GET OUT THE VOTE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Our Get Out the Vote (GOTV) activities are underway! Please consider joining us as we visit the homes of registered Democrats and Democrat-leaning voters who may be unsure about the voting process, need some additional encouragement to vote, or just need a ride to the polls.

Every vote matters! Increased turnout will significantly impact the election outcome - especially in close races. This is your chance to help ensure victory up and down the ballot. We'd love to see a small army of local volunteers knock on every single door here in Knox County that we have specifically identified as one that needs to be visited based on our data.

GOTV shifts take place several times each day as we build momentum toward Election Day. You can sign up for a shift or two (or more), based on your availability. Our Maine Democratic Party Field Organizer Karen Plomgren wants you all to know what a great and supportive county she was lucky enough to be working in! And we are grateful for her dedication to the cause!

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION PARTY

KCDC is hosting a party on Sunday, November 10, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM to acknowledge and thank all our hard-working 2024 volunteers. Our operation couldn't exist without the dedication of our many fantastic volunteers!

The party will take place at KCDC headquarters. The festivities will include an array of food and beverages. If you volunteered in 2024, you should have received an email invitation. Be sure to RSVP by following the link in the invitation.

We know that sometimes our emails go astray into spam or other folders, so if you've volunteered in 2024 and can't locate the invitation, please RSVP here.

KCDC Gets Creative!

KCDC’s Tradition of Hand-Painted Lawn Signs

Our Knox County Democratic community is not only dedicated to our mission to elect qualified Democrats, they are artistic too! This talent was demonstrated at recent volunteer “Sign Painting Parties” at KCDC Headquarters

The Harris-Walz Campaign, the Maine Democratic Party, and local candidates have provided hundreds of lawn signs for voters to place on their properties (and certain allowed public spaces) to publicly declare their support and encourage discussions among neighbors. KCDC’s HQ has been the primary venue for distribution of these lawn signs, with candidates and volunteers staging and distributing them to the community.

However, adding to these pre-printed signs, and a long-standing tradition here at KCDC, are the unique, hand-painted signs crafted by volunteers that serve as an expression of our Democratic values. In the heart of this election season, our members have come together to express their political preferences in unique and vibrant ways. This grassroots initiative captures the unique essence of a community's support, strengthens our community ties, and encourages local expression of many creative and talented people!

Post-Election Day Volunteers Needed

We will all be exhausted from our volunteering, canvassing and, on the evening of November 5, celebrating the victory of the Harris-Walz ticket and winning all our state and local elections.

However, the work will not yet be done. We will still need volunteers to help

  • Clean KCDC Headquarters and start to prepare the office due to our lease expiring November 15, and

  • Collect Democratic candidate signs from public areas around Knox County.  They must be removed by November 12. If you posted a sign, please retrieve it and save it for 2028!  If you remove one of the wooden signs, please return it to HQ, as it will be reused in future elections. If you remove signs from a place that is not your own property, please be sure you are removing a sign that is in a public way and not on someone’s private property. Signs can be returned to HQ until our lease expires on November 15.

Please email us if you can help or have questions.
