U of T prepares to celebrate graduates at fall convocation

More than 5,700 students will graduate from U of T this week, with more than 4,000 of them expected to cross the stage at Convocation Hall during 10 scheduled ceremonies. Read more

Remembrance Day ceremony begins at 10:45 a.m.

Every Remembrance Day, the U of T community honours those alumni, students, faculty and staff who fell in the First and Second World Wars, as well as other conflicts. The in-person UTM ceremony will take place at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 in front of the Davis Building, near the flagpole. Power outages expected at MN
Planned electrical maintenance in the Maanjiwe nendamowinan building between Tuesday, Oct. 29 – Thursday, Oct. 31  from 5 to 8 a.m. each day will affect multiple services, including power to receptacles, IT and AV services, wired and wireless (WiFi) networks, and access to the Internet. Neither lighting nor elevators will be interrupted. Occupants in this building are encouraged to save their work to prevent loss of data. For questions, contact Justin Lee 905-301-2178, justins.lee@utoronto.ca or engineering lead hand 905-301-7256.
First Aiders wanted
If you would like to volunteer to become a First Aider for the campus, contact UTM EHS Manager Wei-Ting Shekat weiting.shek@utoronto.ca for upcoming training opportunities. All First Aiders must be trained and certified in Standard First Aid and assigned to a First Aid Station in their area. Training is provided by a WSIB-approved training provider and is offered as a comprehensive two-day in-person course. After successful completion of the training, individuals will receive a certificate which is valid for three years. Learn more about UTM First Aid resources and accident reporting procedures
New awards available from Black Research Network
U of T's Black Research Network (BRN) has launched the second cohort of BRN Faculty Fellows. Open to University of Toronto tenure track and teaching stream faculty, awards of $10K will help fellows conduct research in any academic discipline, build on disciplinary or multidisciplinary insights in specific fields and mobilize knowledge. Deadline is Oct. 31. Read more

Win a parking pass, help United Way

The first UTM United Way Campaign fundraiser of the season is a raffle for an annual UTM Parking Pass (2024-2025), valued at over $800 and donated by the UTM Parking office. If you have already purchased a parking pass for the year, you are still eligible to enter the raffle. The winner of the parking pass can choose to be reimbursed the cost of their current parking pass, or the raffled pass, whichever is less. Tickets are $5 for one, $10 for three and $20 for seven.
