I'm excited to exhibit with three other artists, all deeply focused on the landscape. Rooted and Restless shares four distinct visions of the natural world through abstraction and representation. Please mark your calendar and join us at the opening on Friday, November 22, from 6 - 8 pm in the Class of 1925 Gallery in the Memorial Union (2nd floor), University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Despite an acute awareness of climate change, habitat loss, and disrupted ecology, these four Midwest painters speak to spiritual connections, the restorative power of nature, and the persistence of life, even in threatened environments.
Apparition, acrylic on cradled birch panel, 12 x 24 in., 2024
When entering a forest, whether urban or wild, I am keenly aware not only of their beauty but their intricate and vulnerable connection to climate.
