MaineHousing will hold a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed U.S. Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program State Plan for Fiscal Year 2025 at 9:30 a.m. on 11/19. Affordable Housing Deliveries to Peak in 2025
Deliveries of fully affordable housing is forecast to reach 69,600 units this year and then hit a multiyear peak of 70,500 units in 2025 before a looming slowdown in the following years, according to a new Yardi Matrix report. Read more.
Blueberry Fields Cooperative Preserves Housing in Bath
Two bills that MAHC supported in the last legislature came together to keep 277 homes affordable for Maine people this week. Kudos to MAHC members Genesis Community Loan Fund, M&T Bank and Cooperative Development Institute for making this happen. We need to build more homes in Maine, but saving affordable homes is equally important. MAHC advocated in support of the nation leading 60 day resident opportunity to purchase law that provides residents time to organize for purchases like this, and testified in favor of the $5 million fund to invest in preserving affordable manufactured housing for Maine people.
