November is Native American Heritage Month! For us at Indigenous Justice Circle, every month is an opportunity to learn from our partners and honor the resilience of Indigenous peoples around the world. This November, we are excited to celebrate Native Heritage Month in combination with our two year anniversary!

IJC UPDATES

Pictures from the road!

October and November have been great months for connecting with our partners across Indian country.

On the top left we have IJC’s Kelly Hallman visiting the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) with Maegan Matushqua and Courtney Reeder. Top center continues the OKCIC visit with Kelly and Courtney joined by Michaela Parrot and her daughter Ellie. Top right highlights the trip to Nebraska Kelly and IJC’s Project Manager Lisa Polen took, the picture shows them both with Nicole Tamayo Benegas of Bluebird Cultural Initiative at the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha.

Bottom left shows Lisa outside the offices of The 100 Horses Women's Society on Cheyenne River Sioux lands in Dupree, South Dakota. Bottom center shows Kelly and Lisa with the women who make The 100 Horses Women's Society possible: Founder/ED Medina Matonis, Board Members Auntie Sandy Frazier and Julie Taylor, and Taylor’s beautiful daughter. Finally, on bottom right we see Kelly at the exhibit "The Indian Congress" at Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha. Thank you to everyone for your gracious hosting and the opportunities to share time with you. Looking forward to seeing you all again!
