Hello Community,

It’s been almost a week since the election and I am sure many of you, like me, are still reeling from the results and overwhelmed by whats to come. I’ve been finding it challenging to pull away from all the analysis and news in hopes of figuring out a way to understand what happened. I have found comfort in joining in on a few online calls in the past week with people from across the country. One of the calls I joined included Indivisible co-founder Leah Greenberg with the Worth Fighting For. That call had over 140,000 people on it and included a wide variety of grassroots organizations, organizers, and elected officials.

I would like to share some resources (below) and ways to plug in once you feel ready to do so. I want to encourage you to rest and take the time you need and don’t feel like you have to jump back in immediately. We will be here when you are ready to do so. Many of you worked so hard during this election season and you owe it to yourself to take a much needed break.

In this time we need to make sure we are caring for ourselves and others. This administration is not going to be easy to push back on and we need to be kind, compassionate, and allow some grace towards each other and ourselves. Just know that you are not alone and there are so many people feeling the same way.

The Indivisible Santa Cruz County organizers have started to put some plans together for a hybrid, in-person/online meeting in December. We want to allow space and time for you all to feel ready to take on the huge task ahead of us. We hope to send out more info in the next week or two.

In Solidarity,

Amanda Harris Altice

Co-organizer for Indivisible Santa Cruz County

Our movement began as a means to stop the Trump agenda. We succeeded and we will do it again.

Democracy is in grave peril but not lost. This election is catastrophic, but democracy does not get decided in one election. Had we won, democracy would not have been saved. After losing, democracy isn’t gone.

We will come together. We will fight back. We will forge a path forward.

Join Indivisible on Wednesday 11/13 at 8:30pm ET for the launch of our new guide and strategic plan for how we will meet this moment.

(If you've been joining us for the Women Wednesdays for Harris call series, this is the same call space and link and is the final event in Women Wednesdays.)

Your Help is Still
Needed to Cure Ballots

What is ballot curing? Ballot curing is when a voter's ballot is not counted by the elections office for a couple of reasons. Either they didn't sign their ballot, or the voter signed it incorrectly, so the elections office didn't count it.

Our job is to ensure their voices are heard and their votes are counted. We will train you and walk you through the process, it's easier than it sounds!

There are still five undecided House of Representative races in California: CD-13, CD-22, CD-27, CD-41 and CD-45.  As well as an undecided Senate Race for Bob Casey in Pennsylvania.  Many ballots need to be "Cured" to correct signature mistakes so that every vote is counted in these really close elections.

We have the opportunity to phone bank to cure ballots for these races: Will Rollins in CD-41 and Derek Tran in CD-45 and Bob Casey's Senate race in Pennsylvania. There are many opportunities to canvas in the other CA districts to cure ballots for Adam Gray in CD-13,  Rudy Salas in CD-22 and George Whitesides in CD-27.

Volunteer with Field Team 6 to cure ballots.
