International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) U.S. Department of State’s professional exchange program
From October 26 to November 16, 2024, women from 46 countries are visiting Washington, DC; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Durham and Greensboro, NC; Huntsville, AL; Orlando, Pensacola, and St. Petersburg, FL; and Los Angeles, CA, to engage with STEM experts, researchers, and STEM education champions on the contributions and advancement of women in scientific research and innovation and strategies to further expand opportunities for women and girls in STEM.

On Monday evening November 4th, Executive Director Lisa Jessar of NC Global Leadership in partnership with the U.S. Department of State gave a warm welcome to IVLP attendees at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN). The brochure read "Welcoming the World to the Piedmont Triad:". Panelists included:

Earlier in the day, Tiffany Jacobs, Executive Director of the Forge Greensboro, held a program for the international guests to experience nontraditional skills such as welding with instructor Steven Treson and laser etching with instructor Ronnie Staton.

Aspirations in Computing Recognition Awards Program for High School Students -
NCWIT has extended the AiC High School Award application deadline to November 8, 2024, in response to the devastation and recovery efforts following Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Please note that the deadline for parent approval (applicants under 18) and educator endorsements is still November 11, 2024.
