Help us fundraise this Giving Season! |
Compassion in ActionIn 2024, we assisted over 436 families with funeral planning, trauma counseling, and crisis management—helping them find a path to healing during their darkest moments.
Together, let's raise $50,000 to ensure that every family in need has access to the compassionate support they deserve. Your contribution will make a lasting impact, providing the resources and assistance that empower families to navigate their grief and begin to heal. |

“As we enter this Thanksgiving season, I am filled with deep gratitude for our dedicated staff who provide unwavering support to families during their most challenging moments. Each time I attend our events and speak with the families we serve, I am profoundly moved by their testimonials. Time and again, they share heartfelt stories, telling me, "I could not have made it without the help of Chicago Survivors." These encounters remind me of the significant impact our work has on the lives of those we assist. This month, let us all remember the words of Maya Angelou, who wisely noted, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel." Thank you for everything you do to make such a meaningful difference. Wishing you all a warm and heartfelt Happy Thanksgiving.” -Michelle Gennaro |

Together, we shared moments of connection, learned ways to navigate the challenges of the holiday season, and built a stronger sense of community. It was a meaningful gathering filled with education, encouragement, and care for one another.
A huge thank you to Witherite Law Group for their sponsorship and support of families impacted by homicide. Your partnership makes events like this possible! And Karen Liebold with The Oaks Counseling Center for participating in our Panel Discussion.

Dia De Los Muertos at The Front Porch |
Dia De Los Muertos “Day of the Dead” is a beloved holiday celebrated on November 1st through the 2nd by families throughout Mexico and those of Mexican heritage. This cultural holiday is truly about commemorating, honoring, and remembering passed loved ones. Traditionally, families set up an alter and place offerings, which includes their passed loved one’s photos, favorite foods, marigolds. specially baked breads, candles, and other decorations.
We are so thankful to all the survivors who attended our second annual ‘Dia de los Muertos Celebration’ event. It truly was a special evening of community coming together to honor and remember loved ones - some learning about this new cultural tradition for the very first time.
A special thank you to Precious Blood Ministry Of Reconciliation for your partnership. |
