PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD

Led by Sudbury parent volunteer, Charity Stone, Saint Louis Sudbury School's soup entry in Intersect Arts Center's Fall Fest soup competition won the People's Choice Award! What an honor! Our soup was inspired by the folk tale Stone Soup in which a traveler cleverly brings together people of a town to each share a small amount of their food to make a meal for all to enjoy--all with the help of a "magic" stone. Sudbury families came together to donate some of the ingredients for the soup!

SUDBURY STUDENTS SAY

This week we asked students, "How have you changed since you've been at Sudbury?"

"I have become more confident, more aware, and I've become a happier person in general. Before Sudbury, I was scared to speak up for myself and I was unsure of who I was as a person." -- Saint Louis Sudbury School Student

"I am now more independent." -- Saint Louis Sudbury School Student

RECENT HAPPENINGS

It's been a full and engaging couple of weeks at Saint Louis Sudbury School! Some moments include: a student organizing a Secret Santa gift exchange, kids ages 8 to 17 deciding to watch ducks at a park and then ending up talking about animal behavior and the food chain, making a sweater for a teddy bear, discussing different ways to run the Judicial Committee process so people feel heard and understood, creating cardboard hats, masks, and shields with visiting artist Justin King, playing board games, making new rules (and spending a lot of time discussing them!), learning chess, voting for new chairs and co-chairs of committees, making slime, trying out new approaches to chores, talking about having a lemonade stand in December, reworking the open campus certification process, eating ramen, having many conversations about choices and setting boundaries, and much more.

CHANGING LIVES FUNDRAISER

Did you know? Over 60% of students at our school receive tuition assistance. This holiday season, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help support Saint Louis Sudbury School’s tuition assistance program and general operating fund. Your contribution helps ensure that students throughout the St. Louis region have access to a unique educational choice—one that prioritizes young people’s well being, respect of self and community, communication and decision making skills, and ability to adapt to a changing world. Thank you for your generosity!

Triple your impact! If you donate by December 31, 2024, a Saint Louis Sudbury School family and corporate donor will match the first $1,800 in contributions.
