Partnership Engage Grants are expected to respond to the objectives of the Insight program and the Connection program. These grants provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector. The small-scale, stakeholder-driven partnerships supported through Partnership Engage Grants are meant to respond to immediate needs and time constraints facing organizations in non-academic sectors. In addressing an organization-specific need, challenge and/or opportunity, these partnerships let non-academic organizations and postsecondary researchers access each other’s unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities on topics of mutual interest.

Good Research News
The 2024 NSERC Science Exposed finalists have been announced, and Mount Royal biology student Emily Kingdon won the people's choice award for her photo "Cellular Cosmos." Kingdon captured the photo of muscle cells through work on a research project as part of BIOL 4101. Congratulations Emily!  More info about the competition winners can be found on the NSERC website

Earlier this year Ademola Adesola released his new monograph "Representations of Child Soldiers in Contemporary African Narratives." In the book Adesola examines the dominant factors that writers privilege in their portrayals of child soldiering in sub-saharan Africa. He states that the narratives discussed in the book are significant in the varying ways they reify and challenges the Western ideas of "child" and "childhood," as well as privilege child soldiers as social actors whose intricate makeups disavow being simply understood as innocent victims or irredeemable perpetrators of atrocities. To celebrate the release of the book, there will be a book launch event held in the Mount Royal Faculty Centre
