"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in
Christ Jesus."
- 1 Thessalonians 5:18
You know the saying, there is always something to be thankful for! Well, it's not just a saying, but so true. We are so blessed by all that God does for each one of us. Even in the hard days and we all have them, God is good, and we must be thankful and praise Him. We are called to give thanks in all circumstances—in joy and sorrow. This is God's desire for our lives.
In our Wednesday night class, the kids and I talked about giving thanks and praise to God daily. It was so heartwarming to hear all that the kids had to be thankful for. It made me stop and wonder if I am daily giving God thanks for all He does in my life. I am telling the kids that they need to be giving thanks in all circumstances, but am I doing that too? I know I try hard to be, but also know that I can do better about it. Rather than complain I can and need to give thanks. The Contemporary English Version literally says "Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do." I don't think it can get any clearer than that. Jesus died for us, and we are to be continually giving thanks for all the blessings we receive.
See you Sunday
Blessings,
Ms. Jen
