Our Mission Statement:
"To be a community that shares the joy of God's Love"

November 21, 2024

From Fr. Mack

Dear People of St. Patrick’s,

Each year, during our stewardship campaign, we talk a lot about money and about our budget, and yes, those things are important!  They are the way we fund the Church. But our real focus is on what our gifts can do for the world. Jesus calls us to heal, visit, feed, accompany, protect, advocate, love our neighbor, and sharing our time, talent, and treasure is the way that we make this happen.

Each of us hears this call differently, just as each of us has been blessed by God differently. Our talents and training have been gifts freely given to us by God so that we may share them with a world in need. How will you feel God’s call to walk in love this year? How will you determine how you will share your gifts with God’s people in the world?

This Sunday, our 2025 pledge cards will be available for you to pick up (if you can’t make it to this Sunday’s service, we will mail it to you). I ask that before you fill it out, pray about it, discuss it with your family, and discern how God is calling you to share your gifts.

Our campaign will end on December 15th, the Third Sunday of Advent, so please return your answer to us by then if possible so that we may count your pledge in our ingathering where your gift will be added to many others to be blessed, broken, and shared with the world.

Peace & Blessings,

Mack+

CHRISTMAS COOKIE MINISTRY

COOKIES DUE DECEMBER 8

The holidays are fast approaching, and the Pastoral Care Ministry is planning a cookie treat box delivery to our parishioners who are unable to attend services and fellowship because of various limitations.  We at St. Patrick’s want to bring them Christmas greetings, holiday cheer, and Christmas treats to let them know that they are valued members of our church family and that we miss them.

We need approximately 60 dozen cookies for our gift-giving, and we are asking St. Patrick’s wonderful cookie angels to make 2 to 3 dozen cookies each, each cookie no larger than 2 inches in diameter, in order to fill the gift boxes.  Please bring your cookies to St. Patrick’s on or before Sunday, December 8, 2024.

We will be packing the boxes after church on Sunday December 8,  2024, and sending people to deliver the boxes and our loving Christmas wishes to our members who are unable to join us for worship, fellowship, and activities.

Holiday Concert: Friday, December 13

6:30 pm. Hear the sounds of the season and join us for treats afterwards. FREE

On the last Sunday in the Church Year, we observe the Feast of Christ the King. Among certain Christians, it raises eyebrows because as Americans, the idea of kingship seems somehow foreign to us. Some churches call it Reign of Christ Sunday instead. As the work of kings is to reign, I see little difference, but our SUNDAY ANTHEM says it better than any theologian. The choir will be singing “Creator of Beauty and Giver of Light,” which describes the the kingdom of God better than I ever could. Here’s a sample of the lyrics:

The journey of each soul remains in your care;

Your guidance and faithfulness, always you share;

Your spirit, within us, each strength that you send,

Returned to your glory, a world without end.

Until Sunday,

-Rev. Carol+
