This is our last full week of school before Thanksgiving! Here’s what you should know this week:

DRIVER’S EDUCATION


Families that are interested in the Driver’s Ed course please submit your signed driver’s ed form as soon as possible. There are only 20 available spots for the program.


The forms can be found in the main office. If you did not receive the form please reference this link. Please contact Ms. Pointer at mpointer@weareuca.org if you have any questions.


Make sure you are getting your payments in on time:

  • If you are doing the 2 payment option, your first payment is due today, November 18th.

  • Full payment is due December 18th.

UCA SPIRIT WEAR


Come check out our new spirit wear in the front office! For $35, you can purchase a long sleeve tee, as modeled below by senior Jeremiah Johns:

MOCK TRIAL TRY-OUTS


Try-outs for the UCA Mock Trial team will take place on Tuesday, November 19, and Thursday, November 21. Students wishing to try out should grab updated try-out materials from Ms. O’Neal and sign up for a time slot outside of her classroom.

ANGEL TREE GIFTS


UCA is happy to announce that we are doing the service project Angel Tree again this year! The Christmas tree is up and full of gift tags by the front office ready for you to pick up a gift to buy!


Each tag will have a different gift needed for a child that has a parent incarcerated and normally would not get much for Christmas. If you are able to help out this year, please grab a tag, or have your student do so. All gifts need to be wrapped or in a gift bag with the tag attached by November 26.

COAT DRIVE


Destiny Changers Christian Fellowship, who meet on our campus, will be collecting gently used coats to hand out to communities in need this holiday season.  If you have any coats (adult, teen, and child sized) to donate, you may bring them to the UCA office.

SOUTH HOLLAND HOLIDAY EVENTS


The Village of South Holland has published a list of holiday worship services and events through the end of the year. View the list here.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • Thanksgiving Break runs November 27–29.

  • Quarter 2 ends on December 20.

  • Christmas Break runs December 23 – January 6. A no-school Faculty Institute will take place on Monday, January 6, followed by the start of Quarter 3 on Tuesday, January 7.
