“The Master Plan of the Universe” Rev. Dr. Kate Walker
I figured it out! Well, I heard it on a popular TV show, but I am ready to share it. The Theme of the Month is Blessing, so let me share the master plan of the universe. You, too, can be a blessing to others.

Help Assess the Board by Dec 30
Please take 10 minutes to help assess the performance of the Board of Trustees by filling out the brief survey at the link below. The assessment of the Board by the Congregation is the final part of our comprehensive assessment program. Thank you to everyone who helped to assess Rev. Kate and parts of the congregation in earlier surveys over the last two years! The survey will close at the end of the day on Monday December 30.
Church Staff and Holiday hours
We will be on light duty the week between Christmas and the week of New Year's (Dec. 25- Jan. 6), so we will not follow regular hours. The office will be closed. Please feel free to contact the office if you have questions.
Wish Lists for Mathilda Theiss!
As has been our tradition for many years, we will be collecting toys and gifts for the children served by theMathilda TheissHealth Center in the Hill District. Please look for the tree in the Garden Lobby.
Due to Thanksgiving being late this year, the timeline is very short. Please consider using Mathilda Theiss's wish list to send the gifts directly to the Center.
Please use the Amazon and Target links below to send gifts directly to Mathilda Theiss's children. If you prefer to shop in person, please leave your gifts under the tree in the Garden Lobby by December 8. Make sure you choose "Mathilda Theiss" when asked to select an address. Thank you!
Art in the Undercroft The December quilt show is hanging in the Undercroft Gallery. It is a colorful and beautiful exhibit. Very small quilted wall hangings and huge quilts work well on beds. The quilters hosted coffee hour and a sale this past Sunday, where many more quilts and miniature quilted goods were available. The little quilted stuff for sale in the Schweitzer Room will be back this Sunday, and the quilters will host a ‘last chance’ quilt sale after the church service on December 22.
You have two more weeks to deliver your photos, which will hang in the Member and Friends Photo Exhibit in January. Put your photo(s) in one designated box in the Undercroft or the Garden Lobby.
Check out the quilt hanging in the Garden Lobby. It is being auctioned on the UU website, Faithify. You can participate in the auction. All proceeds go to the UU Disaster Relief Fund.
Thank you!
Hi All, This is overdue, but we wanted to thank you all for your time, support, and fellowship in putting together the Thanksgiving Luncheon. We’ll leave it to Jim to provide the final numbers of attendees and funds received (which we’ll use for other church events), but we think it’s fair to say there were a lot of people, and no one went hungry! It clearly takes a village, and we are grateful that so many of you and the broader congregation have stepped up and played such big roles. I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving with family and/or friends and are staying warm.
Warm wishes, Tracy and JoAnn
