On a cold, star-filled night in Poland, our photojournalist and investigators from the animal rights organization Anima International quietly entered a fur farm that warehoused row after row of foxes and raccoon dogs in dirty wire cages.
Their mission? To document the appalling conditions, and to save one precious girl, a white raccoon dog whom they later name Buba.
Buba’s beautiful white fur would not be used as trim on a jacket or hat – it would stay on her, where it belonged. She was going to safety.
We’re looking for a Client Engagement Specialist to join our team and help us build strong, lasting relationships with our amazing assignment partners, stock site users, and animal photojournalists.
We’re not shy about our love of a good book around here. So, we compiled a list of some of our favourite animal-related books you can gift loved ones over the holidays.
Ah, the delicious feel of a real book in your hands!

Incredible news! Thanks to the generosity of so many wonderful supporters, we've smashed my $10,000 birthday fundraiser goal. In fact, we've more than doubled it! I’m beyond grateful to everyone who made this possible.
With three days to go until my birthday, can we stretch it even more? Looking ahead to 2025, there’s so much to be excited about. As global leaders in animal photojournalism, the work We Animals does in the coming year will be used for decades to come.
In this engaging webinar hosted by FIAPO, We Animals Founder Jo-Anne McArthur discusses the evolution of We Animals, and gives advice on how to tell powerful animal stories.
