Updates from The Carpentries Core Team

Support The Carpentries’ transition to greater autonomy with your donations.

This year on Giving Tuesday (3 December 2024), The Carpentries launched an appeal for donations of any amount to help support our transition out of fiscal sponsorship to operating as an independent non-profit organisation (NPO)! This transition is significant for our community and we still call on your support for our ongoing efforts beyond #GivingTuesday.

A poster with #GivingTuesday as a title, and "Support The Carpentries' Transition to Greater Autonomy With Your Donations" as a subtitle. The Carpentries' Gratitude symbol is at the centre of the poster. The symbol is a pink heart-shaped sign with The Carpentries' logo in white enclosed within it.

The Carpentries is now active on BlueSky!

On 2 December The Carpentries became active on the social media platform, BlueSky! We will continue to maintain our Mastodon and our LinkedIn accounts, and the content we post on all social media accounts will be the same. Please follow and engage with us on one or all three social media platforms!

The Carpentries Handbooks relaunched!

On the 9th of December we relaunched The Carpentries Handbooks! The Handbooks are compiled for the following community roles: Community Session Hosts, Curriculum Advisors, Instructors, Instructor Trainers, Lesson Developers, Lesson Program Governors, and Maintainers. Browse through the relaunched Handbooks, and provide us with any feedback you may have as we continue to improve these resources.
