Ahoy there and welcome to the second HTML newsletter crafted by my fair laptop. As usual it's releases/podcast/mixes/gigs/blahblah - plenty going on this month as you will see.
It's snowing here in Berlin but the cold weather is proving to be quite useful - I suddenly seem to be interesed in working on music again rather than going out and drinking latte in MItte lol.
I am currently remixing Jazzanova which feels a bit unreal. They are some of my biggest musical heroes so it's amazing to get the opportunity to re-version their forthcoming 'I Human' single (which features Paul Randolph on the vox - someone else I have followed over the years). Remix is sounding pretty banging thus far.

GIGS
Mutant Disco, Tallinn, Estonia Feb 17
I will be in Estonia next weekend to play a couple of cool gigs. On Friday 17th Feb, I will be joining genuine legends
Ajukaju and
Rhythmdoctor at Studio, Tallinn for my second appearance at their amazing
Mutant Disco night (which has been going strong since 1997 and hosted the likes of Moodymann, Gilles Peterson and Actress)
. My
last visit to Tallinn was full of highlights including getting lashed at the Estonian National Music Awards, getting lost while mega drunk outside my hotel at 5am when it was -27, dancing to an hour of 100% Prince tracks at the MD afterparty and then being chucked onto a ferry (I didn't want to leave!) at 8am to cross the gulf of Finland to play in Helsinki the following evening. Who knows what will happen this time!
Horizont, Tartu, Estonia Feb 18
I will also be playing a second date in Estonia on Saturday 18th of Feb with Ajukaja for the
Horisont guys in the smaller University town of Tartu. Really looking forward to that as well as I haven't been there before.

Australia Tour In April
I will be returning to Australia in late April to play at some of the coolest nights in the country. As with last year it's been organised by
Picnic who are currently touring acts like Space Dimension Controller and Andrew Weatherall so the shows should be pretty cool. I had the best time ever last year which you can read all about
HERE.

April 28th - Mad Racket, Sydney

RELEASES
Bergerac 003 out soon
I have just got finished copies of Bergerac 003 and they are sounding really hot. It's a pretty banging EP which has received early support from Four Tet, Mosca, Axel Boman, Ame, 2562, Paul Woolford, Midland, Iron Curtis and a whole host of other DJs who I respect so fingers crossed the people on the dancefloor will enjoy it as well.
As ever, the artwork comes from the incredibly talented Silke Eiselt featuring illustrations of my high school Waid Acadmey in Anstruther and the first flat I lived in in Edinburgh in 1995. I actually had to knock on the door of my first ever flat in Rossie Place, Edinburgh 16 years after I lived there and ask a nice Polish couple if I could take a photo from the back garden (it's a ground floor rear flat). Remarkably they said yes.
The tracks were mixed on the SSL 4000 B series desk in rural Austria during the second Hot Coins album mixing session and I guess it's my most techno release to date. Vinyl should be in the shops at the start of March so keep an eye out at the end of Feb for a few early copies perhaps. ;) Digital will be at the end of March.

I am still working what to put on the first record but that's because I have SO much cool music to choose from. The plan is to release 3 split artist dancefloor twelves which will each feature people who I support on the radio show and then a compilation album with a bit more of the downtempo styles to represent the full width of music featured on the show. Watch this space.
