Final Air Force Property Transferred to England Authority



An important chapter was closed in Central Louisiana's greatest economic victory Thursday. The best parts of the book, stakeholders believe, are still to come. The transfer of the final piece of what was England Air Force Base to the England Authority was commemorated in a ceremony at Alexandria International Airport on Thursday. England Airpark Key to Financing Sundrop BioFuel Project


Sundrop Fuels Inc. is betting $450 million on a planned biofuels facility near Alexandria. More than that, the company is betting its future. The plant off Interstate 49 in the Rapides Station area will be Sundrop's first production facility for its "green gasoline" -- a vehicle-ready transportation fuel made from woody biomass and natural gas.
