Collect for the Feast Day of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Almighty God, by the hand of Moses your servant you led your people out of slavery, and made them free at last: Grant that your Church, following the example of your prophet Martin Luther King, may resist oppression in the name of your love, and may strive to secure for all your children the blessed liberty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. |

Dear All,
Thank you to Pam, Ned, Erin, 2 high school girl volunteers, driver Tomi, and REFB rep Hiya. Tonight 59 families/210 individuals received food on St Pat's parking lot! For the first time in a long time, we spent the entire hour distributing food with one more coming after we closed! At least two also filled several water bottles from our tap!
Because of low attendance Dec 30 (weather and it being almost Christmas = 28 families/80 individuals) many didn't receive the candy bags we'd prepared. They got it tonight! Again, the honesty of the clients - those that received candy Dec 30 said so, leaving others to get candy tonight! HOW FINE IS THIS!
Three volunteers are needed for Jan 27. Please let me know it you can help.

The Flower Guild Ministry is seeking additional volunteers to help with the flower decorations of the church. There is no cost to the volunteer—reimbursement for expenses is easily available. We rotate duties so that typically no one is responsible for flowers more than one time per month and we adjust schedules to accommodate each person’s availability. During Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas we work together as a team to decorate the church. If you have any questions and possible interest –please contact me – Please know you don’t have to be an expert floral arranger!—Margaret M. (707)542-8146 |

This Sunday, the choir will be singing a setting of the hymn “Deck my soul with gladness” composed by George Frederich Handel. Our hymns resonate with evocations of the Holy Spirit and Mission, the two great themes of the Sundays following Epiphany. |
