On Thursday, the Washington State Catholic Conference issued a news release about the Native American Research Study. The study focused on all diocesan archival records documenting Catholic boarding schools serving primarily Native American children and their related cemeteries. We will be pulling half yearly ordinary income reports from QuickBooks through Qvinci on Jan. 21. Please ensure all data as of Dec. 31 is completely entered, and make sure your QuickBooks is syncing with Qvinci.
All independent contractors paid $600 or more in a year must be given a Form 1099-NEC. No individual should receive both a W-2 and a 1099-NEC from the same employing unit (archdiocese and parishes are considered one unit in this case), unless their status changed in the calendar year. This includes priests providing weekend and/or sacramental help.
