Message From Your Board of Directors

Happy New Year! As we plan for the 2025 golf season, we want to thank our volunteers who have offered their support in organizing and coordinating this year’s events and Leagues.

We received some great feedback and ideas from those who completed our 2024 member survey, and this has been helpful for planning the 2025 season.  This year, we’re focused on enhancing the golf program we provide to our members. Our golf season will launch with our Season Opener in May…fingers crossed that April showers will bring May flowers and good golfing weather. Stay tuned for further announcements as events and programs are confirmed.

We are always looking for new golfing opportunities for our members.  If you're interested in hosting an event at your home course, or on one of your favourite courses, please email golfevents@lpgaamateursgta.ca. We already have a number of events secured for this season and will be announcing our schedule of golf events later in the Spring.

This year we are also trying to focus on new events to attract underrepresented groups, making our Chapter more inclusive and welcoming for women of all ages and skill levels.  If you have any ideas or suggestions that you think will aid in this effort, please let us know at info@lpgaamateursgta.ca.

Just because it’s cold and dreary outside doesn’t mean our golf season is over.  This year we are offering a Winter Golf League at Swing Zone in Mississauga.  If you’re interested in participating, please contact the League coordinator Maria Szoke at lakeviewsundaygta@gmail.com.  You can learn more and register for this League by visiting our website.
.
We’re very excited to confirm that our popular weekly League Play will be back again starting in the Spring.  Last year many of our Leagues operated into November depending on course closing dates, and again this year, the end of League play will be dependent on course closings.

Central GTA Don Valley Thursday (May to October)
West GTA Granite Ridge Wednesday (May-September)
Central GTA Lakeview Sunday (May-October)
East GTA Pickering Glen Sunday (May-October)
GTA Region Travelling Mid-Week (May-October)

We will be canvassing members to determine the level of interest in a Match Play League again this year. Stay tuned and visit our website for more details regarding our Upcoming Events and Leagues.

Get Involved!
As communicated during our Annual General Meeting last November, we have a new leadership structure for our Chapter – a smaller Board of Directors (4) with Committees of volunteers whose role will be to help with the operations of our Chapter’s activities. The Committees include:
  • Communications & Marketing
  • Competitive & Non-Competitive Golf Events
  • Finance
  • Membership
  • Nominations
If you’re interested in volunteering and would like to learn more, please contact us at info@lpgaamateursgta.ca.

Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to the Board of Directors.

Annual General Meeting - Mark Your Calendar

Our 2024 Annual General Meeting was held virtually via MS Teams on Wednesday November 20, 2024.  At that time, we communicated that the meeting would be reconvened via MS Teams on February 4, 2025 at 7:30 pm during which the final 2024 Financial Statement and 2025 Budget will be presented.  Please mark this date in your calendar and stay tuned for more details.  It is important to renew your membership in advance of this meeting as only active members are able to attend.
