This Sunday’s Gospel, Luke5:1-11, is a perfect example of how God’s generosity shows up the most unexpected places, in the most unexpected ways, and through the most unexpected people. Can you remember a time when you’ve been faced with God’s miraculous generosity? What was your gigantic pile of fish on a beach? How did you respond? Nomadic Shelter News
On February 1, St. Patrick’s again hosted the Nomadic Shelter from Redwood Gospel Mission. We had 13 guests, 4 staff and 14 volunteers.
Margaret Merchet, Leslie Clark and Marilyn Ganz were the cooks, and they made a popular casserole of vegetables, chicken and pasta.
Guests were greeted atthe door by several volunteers, among them Rebecca Randolph, Merle Holtzen, and Eleanor Albon. Guests entered Stevenson Hall, decorated for Valentine’s Day and tables set by Eleanor and Wendy Wood. Tables with hats, scarves and gloves donated by those in the congregation invited guests to choose items they could use.
Wait Staff Kerin McTaggert, Karen Borgfeldt, Dakota Borgfeldt, Rich Randolph, Rebeca Randolph, Bernadette Gibb, Marti Hoeft, Josh Phillips and the Greeters and Set-up volunteers.
After everyone, including the volunteers, enjoyed the dinner there was the clean-up to do. “Chief Bottle Washer” Eleanor had help from Rich and Bernadette and some of the guests helped clear the tables.
It was a successful event, and we look forward to the next one on March 1. If you are interested in helping, please contact me by text, telephone or email. I will have a sign-up sheet available next Sunday. I can be reached by phone or text at(408)981-2024 or by email at rjurny@gmail.com
I’m looking forward to working with another enthusiastic group of volunteers. Betsy Randolph

This week the choir continues its tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. and Black History Month by performing the beloved spiritual This Little Light of Mine for the Offertory Anthem . Every choir member will have a solo in our anthem this Sunday!
Our Hymns for this week are:
Processional Hymn: #401” The God of Abraham praise”
Sequence Hymn: #671 “Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound”
Communion Hymn: WLP #758 "Tú Has Venido a la Orilla" (“You have come down to the lakeshore”)
Recessional Hymn #535 “Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim”
The hymn "Tú Has Venido a la Orilla" originates from Spain and was composed in the 1970’s. It is a a widely popular hymn in many Catholic churches throughout Latin countries. We will be singing it in both English and Spanish. If you would like to practice your Spanish you can listen to the hymn and see the words here:
Tú has venido a la orilla |Cancionero Cristiano
We will surely praise the Lord in song this week!
