Community Spotlight
A Huge Thank You to Our Incredible Direct Care Staff!
We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to our amazing direct care staff who braved the snow and icy roads to make it to campus during the recent snow squall. Thank you for being the heart of our community and for showing up when it matters most. Your efforts truly make a difference every single day!

Music Therapy With River City Drum Corp
The past few weeks, we've had the pleasure of welcoming The River City Drum Corp to campus for music therapy sessions! Sponsored by the Fund for the Arts, this engaging experience brings the energy of percussion to life for our youth.
This month, amidst the chilly snow squall, participants found warmth, joy, and rhythm in the beats of the drums. The sessions offer a perfect mix of fun, creativity, and community connection—all while exploring the therapeutic power of music.

Bachman Subaru #OperationWarm Coat Drive
This season, as part of their Subaru Loves to Help® initiative, Subaru partnered with Operation Warm to to distribute over 100 brand new winter coats to children at Boys & Girls Haven.
"Kids grow out of clothing about every six months, so for those in urgent need situations a coat and shoes that fit cannot be taken for granted. As part of our commitment to being 'More Than A Car Company', we are working to make sure that these children feel strong, confident, and prepared for the day."

Continuing Sam Swope’s legacy of giving, The Sam Swope Family Foundation has awarded $65,000 in each of the past 2 years to BGH. These funds have financed much needed improvements to our campus facilities. Last year, we were able to renovate our equine barn to address the safety, comfort, and effectiveness of our equine therapy program. These updates also enhanced the overall aesthetics of the space. This year, we are working to improve our residential cottages. Our buildings have served us well for more than 7 decades, but they are old, and require constant and sometimes extensive maintenance. We are so thankful for the Sam Swope Family Foundation.
The Ronald P. Cook Charitable Trust
The Ronald P. Cook Charitable Trust has provided annual gifts to BGH for many years. These contributions have allowed us to provide transitional independence programs to at-risk populations navigating the transition to adult life. As young people develop their skills, further their education, and plan for safe housing and stable employment, BGH supports them and prepares them for success throughout their lives. Funding from The Ronald P. Cook Charitable Trust makes this possible.
