By this time next week, I will be in Honduras! I am going as a member of the Northern California delegation to the diocesan convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Honduras, which is being held in Omoa.
Our team consists of:
The Rt. Rev. Megan M. Traquair, Bishop The Rev. Canon Julie Wakelee, Canon to the Ordinary The Rev. Christy Laborda Harris, Rector, St. Stephens, Sebastopol The Rev. Mark DiBelka, Missioner for Disaster Resilience The Rev. Ken Erickson, Missioner for Church Vitality and me!
The Episcopal Diocese of Honduras is a rapidly growing diocese of the Episcopal Church with approximately 80,000 communicants in 156 parishes, missions and preaching stations. The diocese is currently led by the Right Reverend Lloyd Emmanuel Allen.
During our visit, we will learn more about the mission and ministries of the Episcopal Church in Honduras, and discern ways that we can support each other as companion dioceses. In the spirit of sharing and learning from each other, our diocesan Missioner for Disaster Resilience will be presenting on the work he does here in Northern California, and out team will visit some of the church’s schools and orphanages.
I look forward to sharing more about this trip when I get back, and while I am gone, maybe enjoy a baleada and think of me! |

Dear All,
Thank you to Andrew, Robert/Susan/Ian Leslie (new family of volunteers!) Their friend Avery, Adelene, Carolina, driver Tomi, and rep Hiya.
58 families/218 individuals received food on St Pat's parking lot!
It's wonderful that repeat clients become some sort of family. We welcome new comers and those who come infrequently, but it's something of a 2-week reunion of friendships with those who come regularly.
I have enough volunteers for Feb 24.

What do you see?
Food? Hats? Scarves, socks, and gloves? I see less hunger. More hope. Warmth, caring, and sharing.
Who do you see?
Yourself? A stranger?
This past week, caring came in the form of 43 Blessing Bag meals, warming, life protecting clothing, and foodstuffs delivered to Redwood Gospel Mission and F.I.S.H. from donations left in our narthex collection area. Jesus has advised, inspired us. These images affirm we are hearing and listening. Matthew 25: 35-40 Join in this Joy of sharing!!

One Sunny afternoon, I went on a drive to Bodega Head and was sitting in my car to clear my head. All of a sudden, this Starling landed on my passenger side mirror and would not stop trying to get my attention. He must have stayed a solid 5 minutes. This whole time I was trying to take a picture but my phone’s memory was full and some guy parked next to me was blaring his music, making it hard for me to concentrate. Finally I got my phone to work and of course, he flew away before I could snap a photo. AND THEN… he showed up again. It was a beautiful moment with nature. Starlings are amazing, beautiful birds! - April |

With God's help, we commit ourselves to acknowledging the truth of California's history, as well as strengthening existing relationships and improving our efforts to build collaborative relationships with Native peoples. |
