| | October Family Resource: Sesame Workshop | A Message from Our School and Family Engagement Team | Families,
We are so excited to announce the start of a “resource-share” series with you. Each month for the remainder of 2023, we will highlight a resource that we hope you find useful to your family. This could be in the form of an online resource, an organization, or even an event. This month, in honor of the start of the 2023-2024 school year, we are shining a spotlight on an a resource that has been supporting kids' learning since 1969---Sesame Street. Many of us know and love the show and beloved characters like Big Bird and Elmo, but have you heard of Sesame Workshop? Keep reading to learn more about them and follow the links to see how they serve families just like yours!
With a mission of helping kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder, Sesame Workshop is an independent nonprofit that is made up of 400+ members and partners with reach in over 150 countries. Their work focuses on the earliest learners and families can find research-based resources for their children up to age six. You can explore these offerings in the Family Resources section of the site where adults and children can watch videos, listen to stories, and play games that explore topics like emotional well-being, family bonding, and more. Of course, our favorite area of the site is----you guessed it, READING! Found under the Language and Literacy heading, you can search by age group, language (English or Spanish), resource type, and activity length to find just the right game or video and even articles and workshops, or you can click on View All and see all the options at once.
We hope you enjoy delving into Sesame Workshop. We did!
The School & Family Engagement Team, Amy, Alisa, Anneke, Gia, Gisela, & Emma | | Have Great Handwriting?! We Need Your Help!

Helping us mail our End-of-Year thank you notes & holiday cards for our supporters is a big but rewarding task and we could use your help! Simply complete the form letting us know your availability and Parker, our volunteer coordinator, will contact you within the next month.
