POSTPONED: UTM Community Conversations with VPP

UTM Community Conversations with Vice-President and Principal Alexandra Gillespie, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 10, has been postponed due to illness. Details of the rescheduled meetings will be released shortly. 
The sessions, for all staff, faculty and librarians, will discuss ideas about UTM’s work for the years ahead, including in research and teaching, student services and support, budget and space planning, as well as new opportunities to deliver on commitments of the Strategic Framework

Enjoy a day of design at Game Jam

Want to make an interactive narrative digital game? Want to meet new people interested in game studies and development at UTM? Join Game Studies Twine Game Jam on Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Collaborative Digital Research Space (MN 3230).
Come alone or with a team and have a fun day of game design. Lunch will be provided. This jam will have a loose focus on horror-themed submissions, with some light prizes for the best contributions. Please bring a laptop or borrow one from the library (it's also fine if everyone on a team doesn't have one).  Learn more

Update your Cyber Security Awareness this month

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month. Throughout October, the tri-campus information security community will host events about safeguarding data for researchers, excellence through collaboration, effective risk management and more, in alignment with the Information Security strategic objectives. Announcements

Jane Stirling, executive director of communications, UTM, will be seconded to the position of executive director, internal communications, UTC (St. George) starting Oct. 16. She will lead a portfolio responsible for the creation of public relations campaigns, integrated marketing and communication plans, and engagement strategies for internal audiences. Stirling will serve as special advisor, communications, to UTM Vice-President & Principal Alexandra Gillespie.  
Nicolle Wahl, director of marketing and communications, UTM, has accepted a new position at Sheridan College as its chief communications & marketing officer. Wahl joined U of T Public Affairs (St. George) as a news services officer in 2002 and has held increasingly senior positions, overseeing publications, social media, videography, design, web content, and communications strategy. Wahl’s last day at UTM will be Oct. 25.   
Patricia Lonergan, editor of the Office of Communications, will serve as UTM’s interim director of communications and marketing, effective Oct. 26.
