Public Engagement Faculty Fellowship Applications Open
The Public Engagement Faculty Fellowship works in partnership with units across the university to foster ethical, effective faculty public engagement at U-M. The fellowship supports faculty on all three campuses by providing an opportunity to develop skills and incubate project ideas, while also encouraging recognition of and experimentation with all forms of public engagement. The program brings together an interdisciplinary, intergenerational group of faculty members interested in building community and learning from each other and campus experts to effectively engage the public for larger societal impacts.
There are two phases to the program: an intensive Studio Experience phase focused on community-building, reflection, and learning, and a Project Support phase with the opportunity to request in-kind support and funding for an ambitious public engagement project.
Applications for the 2024 cohort are due by 11:59 p.m. on December 1. For additional information fill out this inquiry form or contact peff.admin@umich.edu.

U-M Launches Collaborative to Accelerate Health Research Using Mobile Technologies
U-M leaders have formed a new research collaborative designed to increase knowledge sharing and create a single access point for all U-M investigators who are looking to use wearables, apps, or other mobile technologies in their health research. The Mobile Technologies Research Innovation Collaborative, or MeTRIC, is a campus-wide initiative designed to promote collaboration and remove barriers for health investigators. The group aims to build connections, share knowledge, and reduce redundant work across the University. Organizers believe the work will enable investigators to ask novel questions that lead to groundbreaking discoveries and notable advances in health research.
Founded by the Eisenberg Family Depression Center, Precision Health, and the Department of Anesthesiology, the group includes more than 25 multidisciplinary units from across U-M’s campus. The combined expertise of MeTRIC partners provides a solid foundation of knowledge spanning the entire research cycle. The collaborative is hosting a mobile technology in health research symposium on November 10 at NCRC to showcase U-M research and resources.
