COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT
We continued our community outreach and engagement efforts for our Liver Study in Southern Arizona. This month the Nosotros team had the opportunity to attend different locations/events including the Mexican Consulate in Tucson, Consulate in Nogales, and Menlo Family Resource Center, where we offered our community free liver scans and provided other health resources.
Continuamos nuestras visitas de alcance comunitario para nuestro estudio del hígado en el sur de Arizona. Este mes, el equipo de Nosotros tuvo la oportunidad de asistir a diferentes lugares/eventos, incluido el Consulado de México en Tucson, Consulado de Nogales, y Menlo centro de recursos familiares, donde ofrecimos a nuestra comunidad escaneos de hígado gratis y brindamos otros recursos de salud.

Tanque Verde Swap Meet
We are happy to continue working with our Tanque Verde Swap Meet community. We provided our community with free liver scans and other health resources. This month we completed 349 scans!

Gospel Rescue Mission
This month, the Nosotros team visited the Gospel Rescue Mission to offer free liver scans as part of our community service and gave a presentation to their guests and staff about the importance of liver health.

Each year Hispanic heritage Month is celebrated to recognize the influence and contributions of the Hispanic American community to history.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is celebrated every September to raise awareness about childhood cancer and support affected children and their families. We use this time to learn about the importance of childhood cancer, its impact on young lives, and the need for early detection.

Do you know what Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is? NAFLD is not related to alcohol consumption. Some of the risk factors include obesity, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. Most people have no symptoms!
