Spooks & Spirits Check-in Challenge Launches This Weekend

Visit Lake County is launching its second season initiative, the Spooks and Spirits Check-in Challenge, from October 1-31.
 The Lake County Libation Trail campaign runs alongside the Spooks & Spirits Lake County Autumn Campaign, which began on September 15. In this year's installment, we've extended the initiative from a 10-day challenge to a month-long promotion.
The trail highlights its 30 makers of craft brews, vino and spirits as visitors can check in to five participating locations to win using their mobile passport. Libation enthusiasts can point their device's camera at the QR codes found at the participating locations via table tent, poster, map guide or postcard to register.
 Besides spine-tingling good breweries, wineries and distilleries visitors can also check in at the Beer Garden at Independence Grove during the SeptOberFest event. The Libertyville staple serves a myriad of Lake County Libation Trail offerings.
For the Check-in Challenge, just visit five or more locations during October to be entered to win a 95 WIIL-ROCK Party Bust Tour for 10 guests. The winner can then choose three Libation Trail destinations for their fun excursion with food and drinks, escorted by local radio personalities.

VLC, LCFPD and Alpha Media SeptOber Fest Live Remote Broadcasts

In partnership with the Lake County Forest Preserve District (LCFPD) and Alpha Media, Visit Lake County hosts its SeptOberFest one of three of its live remotes at the Beer Garden at Independence Grove in Libertyville on Thursday, October 12 from 6:30-8 p.m. VLC has already hosted two live remotes with in September.
That installment of SeptOberFest is complemented by live music from Liz Berg who's known to be a jukebox (she can play anything). Sponsored by the Lake County Libation Trail and the Spooks & Spirits Check-in Challenge, Star 102.3 Radio will host a live remote that day.
The Beer Garden at Independence Grove showcases a rotating variety of selections from the Lake County Libation Trail including Light the Lamp Brewery and Glunz Family Winery & Cellars of Grayslake, Harbor Brewing Co. and 9th Hour Brewing Co. of Lake Villa, Phase Three Brewing Co. and Roaring Table Brewery of Lake Zurich, TIghthead Brewing Co. of Mundelein, Ravinia Brewing Co. of Highland Park, Half Day Brewing Co. of Lincolnshire, Wild Onion Brewery & Banquets of Lake Barrington and Liquid Love Brewing Co. of Buffalo Grove.
SeptOberFest runs Thursdays through October 29, featuring live tunes, lakeside fire pits, Lake County Libation Trail selections, s'more kits and more.
