Friends of Same - October Newsletter
Notification of AGM

The Friends of Same Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 31 October 2023, at 11 a.m. at Hawthorn Community House, 32 Henry St.,Hawthorn. All welcome to attend. And the FoS committee would welcome new volunteers to join us on the FoS committee,

Many thanks to Jason and welcome Sabita
Our hardworking treasurer Jason will be retiring at the AGM, so we would like to thank Jason for his support of FoS  over this time, and welcome Sabita who is volunteering as the new treasurer after the AGM.
Bean Alliance is the new supplier of FoS Timor Friendship Coffee to FoS coffee customers, having taken over from Coffex.

FoS thanks Coffex for it's long time support and look forward to working with Bean Alliance in continuing to sell great coffee from Timor-Leste in support of FoS projects and Timorese coffee farmers.

Call for more committee members
Although it's more than 20 years since Timor-Leste became independent, there are still many challenges - e.g. malnutrition, lack of infrastructure, high maternal and infant mortality particularly in rural areas, so Friends of Same has a continuing role.
Being a FoS committee member isn't time-consuming, and committee members don't need to live in Boroondara, as many FoS meetings are conducted by zoom. So please consider joining us!   For more information email
fossame@gmail.com or info@friendsofsame.org.
We'd love to have more people join the FoS committee, in particular, anyone who could fill the treasurer position, as Jason will be retiring at the AGM.
