Fishlake National Forest
Dear tourism partners,

We are contingency planning for a federal shutdown. If the federal government does not reach an agreement to authorize federal spending by September 30, it will shut down on October 1. We are monitoring the situation closely.

Given that any potential shutdown could affect the operation of national parks, monuments and other federally managed lands, we are in constant communication with our federal partners and state leadership. We are ready to activate plans to communicate with visitors to maintain the best traveler experience possible while helping to keep federally managed lands protected, safe and accessible. Our key communications will be through VisitUtah.com and @VisitUtah, on social media. As always, our Forever Mighty responsible travel messaging is at the heart of our communications.

We have now had enough experience with shutdowns that we know how to communicate well with visitors!

Best,

Vicki Varela
