OCTOBER 2023 NEWSLETTER
A Word from our Chief Executive Officer, Mark A. Smith

We are excited to announce "The Big Show II" scheduled for November 5th, 2023. Today, following a three-hour rehearsal by the TC Junior Band (formerly known as the Twin Coaches Junior Stage Band), we were privileged to witness exceptional talent and direction rarely seen among high school-age students.

The band, under the leadership of Mr. Ron Spang, Mr. Dale Hertrich, and the master trumpeter, Mr. Wesley Ward, worked diligently through ten advanced-level music charts despite a tight schedule. Fueling their rehearsal was a delicious serving of Armando's pizza. The band is diligently preparing for "The Big Show" concert, which will take place on November 5th at the Charleroi Area High School auditorium.

In its seventh consecutive season, generously sponsored by the EQT Foundation and the Frick Financial FCU, this year's performance promises to reach new heights. Notably, it features seven talented 12th-grade musicians and will encompass a diverse repertoire, including jazz standards and pop hits like "Frankenstein" by Edgar Winter, and a selection from the legendary Stevie Wonder.

With unwavering support from local school districts, dedicated parents, and our exceptionally talented directors, this year's concert promises to captivate every member of the audience. Tickets and further information are available at 724-565-1687 or via email at info@monvalleyacademyforthearts.org.
