New Branding

You can see from the format of this newsletter that we are moving to the standardised branding adopted by Community Pharmacy England.

The branding is designed to help Community Pharmacy England be more authoritative and as we work together to support community pharmacy we speak with one voice but also one vision and image.

We will gradually be updating our documents and email signatures to align to this new format over the next few months.

Annual General Meeting of Community Pharmacy Lincolnshire - Report

Last Thursday 21st September saw our Annual General Meeting take place at Washingborough Hall near Lincoln.

The event was well attended, with those who came along first enjoying a buffet meal and opportunity for networking with colleagues, followed by the formal part of the AGM, where the Chair gave an overview of the work completed last financial year ending 31st March 2023 and the focus for the year ahead, and the Treasurer presenting the annual accounts.

The annual accounts were approved and a copy can be found here.
A copy of the Committee's Annual Report can be found here.

A very informative and useful presentation followed, delivered by Dr Claire Brookings. The talk covered contraceptive choices, supporting the roll out of the current Tier 1 – Ongoing monitoring and supply of repeat oral contraception (OC) prescriptions national service and the Tier 2 – Initiation of OC via a Patient Group Direction (PGD) currently at the pilot stage.

We thank Claire for her time and assistance.

The slides are available to download here: AGM-2023-Contraceptive-Choices-Talk.pptx (live.com)

We hope that those who attended will join us next year and that those who were not able to come along will be able to do so next time.

Discharge Medicines Service (DMS) Update

Remember DMS is an essential service so all community pharmacy contractors must complete referrals received.

The team at the LPC is continuing to work hard with United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust to enable the roll out of DMS from ULHT sites via the EPMA system. We are aiming to do this on a staged basis to ensure everything works smoothly prior to full rollout.

However, cross border referrals are still being made so you need to look out for them in your nhs.net store in boxes and on PharmOutcomes.

Referrals will also continue to arrive from LPFT and LCHS
