EngBio IRC Early Career Researchers (ECR) Fund

The EngBio IRC supports postgrads and postdocs within the University of Cambridge Synthetic and Engineering Biology community to develop their research skills, enable collaborations with different stakeholders and encourage interdisciplinary, cross-departmental and cross-school events.
We are pleased to fund any event connected to achieving at least one of these aims. Awards will range between £250-£750. We highly encourage you to develop collaborative proposals.

Join our monthly meet, greet and talk to meet postdocs and postgrads from across the University interested in biology, engineering, design, computer science, bioethics and more. Open to postdocs, postgrads and research staff from across the University and affiliated institutes (MRC-LMB, Babraham, Wellcome Sanger)

Cambridge Opentrons Meet n Greet - 11 October, 10am-11.30am
The Opentrons Team will be visiting Cambridge on Wed 11 Oct and is looking for an opportunity to get to know the OT and automation users. EngBio IRC has kindly agreed to help organise a Cambridge Opentrons User Group Meet-and-Greet event, which will be held at Stephenson Seminar Room, Dept. of Biochemistry, Tennis Court Road, Cambridge.
We welcome you to come along and showcase what/how you currently use your OT-2s and automation workflows, learn more about the Opentrons Flex (including demos of some new Flex components: 96-channel pipette, gripper, and onboard tablet display), and get a chance to network with other OT users within the university.

AESIS Societal Impact Webinar Series
September

The Network for Advancing and Evaluating the Societal Impact of Science (AESIS Network) is an international, open community for various types of professionals working on stimulating and demonstrating the impact of science on economy, culture and well-being. The network consists of individual and institutional members, and thus connects different stakeholders. The members all work in a variety of organisations from all over the world, where they are involved in the evaluation of impact, research strategy and policy making, funding and other impact support.
