VALENCIA DEMOPORT WORKSHOP:
PORT DECARBONISATION

On Thursday July 6th took place the Valencia demoport workshop at Fundación Valenciaport’s headquarters. The event, which was titled “Decarbonization in ports”, gathered over 30 professionals from Valencia’s port ecosystem, including terminal operators, port authority members, government employees, logistics workers and others.

The event began with an introduction from the Director of Ecological Transition of the Port Authority of Valencia, highlighting the importance of conducting the energy transition and decarbonization in the Port of Valencia, and the involvement of all stakeholders in the process. His speech was followed by an introduction to the recently approved “Climate change and ecological transition Law of the Valencian Region” by the regional government’s Head of the Climate Change Policy Coordination Service. During his presentation, he focused on the regional Carbon Footprint Registry, which was created with the aim of getting businesses involved in calculating their carbon footprint, reducing their emissions and offsetting the ones they are not able to reduce in order to achieve zero emissions...

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR: 

MARITIME DECARBONISATION

On August 30 and 31, the World Maritime University (WMU) carried out a two-days international seminar on the role of green technologies and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation. During the two days of the seminar, we discussed green technologies and ways of promoting global collaboration and capacity building in maritime decarbonisation. On the second day, the event focused on a Regional Baltic & North Sea workshop as part of the SEANERGY project activities, collecting feedback from relevant port cluster stakeholders in order to guide EU ports and policy making toward the decarbonisation of the shipping sector....

QUESTIONNAIRE - Role of women in ports :

The questionnaire aims to investigate cultural and social inclusion in ports, focusing on the roles of women in ports. 

The questionnaire consists of 7 questions (A-G), with sub-questions, covering the strength of the barriers to the inclusion of women in ports, gender inclusivity, the role of women in ports and diversity in ports.
