1000 Miles Total

FVR will be at the park 8am until 7pm to record attendees' miles walking, hiking, biking, running and/or paddling. No registration necessary, Just show up at the park and FVR volunteers will add your miles and keep the running total on display. You can contribute one mile or 20 miles. Together we can do it!!

We will have our FVR tent set up at the restrooms with giveaways (a special Great Trails State Day sticker, mini first aid kit), snacks and more.

Why: As NC Year of the Trail 2023 comes to an end, the Great Trails State Coalition is looking forward to branding NC as The Great Trails State. Part of that is an annual Great Trails State Day on the third Saturday of October.
