I was contacted recently by a company called Thermalwood Canada. Several years ago I visited them in New Brunswick, Canada and did a video about how they thermally modify woods used in lutherie. Many of you know this is Torrefaction. Check out the video link below to see me interviewing the president of the company, Bob Lennon, about this process.
They have come out with a new product that is an ebony substitute. They call is Obsidian ebony. I did some testing with this wood and of course, made a video about it. You can also see this link below.
